During Your Stay.

5-star treatment in a 5-star setting

While at ‘The Peppertree’

Peppertree loungeOn your arrival at the Peppertree 5 Star Hotel, enjoy a ‘Welcome’ drink with appetizers along with our own olive oil on the wisteria clad verandah as the sun sets. Of course, be sure to sample ‘The Peppertree Chardonnay’, grown in the boutique hotel vineyard just meters from the homestead and made by owner, Werner. This is a wonderful opportunity to speak to a passionate winemaker. For those who fancy a stroll, you can even enjoy a short tour with Werner to his beloved vineyard to learn more about our organic winegrowing practices. With a glass of wine in hand, you might well think you are in paradise!

Your day starts with a delicious breakfast in the elegant dining room (or verandah). Stroll through the native trees, hear the birdsong or enjoy a game of petanque or croquet.

With Marlborough’s extensive range of restaurants, there is always somewhere different to dine, but guests are also welcome to enjoy the cuisine of The Peppertree (by prior arrangement) in the candlelit dining room or we can provide a platter for TWO. You can enjoy the evening in one of our garden’s lovely spots; enjoy local produce, homemade chutney and relish, walnuts and olives grown on the property and a glass of wine.

Guests are also always welcome to relax in the lounge with espresso coffee, a fine complimentary port or sherry complete with a good book and some classical music playing in the background.

Your Hosts: Heidi & Werner Pluss

Werner & Heidi Pluss

Originally from Switzerland, Heidi & Werner fell in love with New Zealand on a holiday and bought The Peppertree, a gracious family homestead with a history that goes back to the early 1900’s, some 25 years ago.

With Heidi’s background in hotel management and catering in Switzerland and Werner’s keen business sense, The Peppertree fulfilled their dream of owning an exclusive accommodation, offering their guests 5-star service in relaxing and comfortable surroundings within the famous Marlborough wine region. Since living in New Zealand Werner has learned the craft of viticulture and has become a passionate wine maker.
