As winter approaches, we can take a breather and happily look back on another successful summer season despite the global economic difficulties. Once again we were able to welcome many repeat visitors who have returned to enjoy the quiet luxury. We look forward to welcoming you to The Peppertree sometime in the future.
The late March sunshine was the perfect setting for the harvest of our “Peppertree Chardonnay” 2009 vintage which promises to be excellent. Friends and guests helped to hand-pick the grapes, and then we all sat together for our traditional BBQ in the shade under the oak trees. It was the ideal opportunity to open the first bottles of our 2007 vintage, a truly distinctive drop! We look forward to sharing a bottle with you at your next visit to New Zealand. You will also get a 15% discount on the cost of your stay, plus a complimentary bottle of our Chardonnay. We can arrange unique packages combining luxury accommodation with activities or special interests, such as golf, individual wine tours, High Country experience and treats for honeymooners.
In the meantime we have embarked on a new venture and planted (hazelnut and oak) trees which have been treated to produce the famous truffles. In a few years we hope to serve our guests an additional luxury at breakfast - slices of truffle with scrambled eggs! The olive grove is maturing well and was producing a good crop for our harvest in June. We are looking forward to the new batch of our very own cold-pressed olive oil for tastings with guests, as well as for our cuisine.
Our newly extended and refurbished accommodation has been appreciated by all our guests and the garden area is an oasis of peace for relaxation. Our Qualmark 5 star grade “exceptional among the best available in New Zealand” in the category “Guest and Hosted” has again been confirmed and assures our guests of first class service with a personal touch.
